National Data Opt-Out

The national data opt out is a service provided by the National Health Service (NHS) in England that allows patients to control how their confidential patient information is used for research and planning purposes.

Under the national data opt out, patients can choose whether their confidential patient information is used for research and planning purposes beyond their individual care. This includes information such as their NHS number, date of birth, postcode, and information about their health conditions and treatments.

Patients can opt out of the use of their confidential patient information for research and planning purposes by setting their preferences through the national data opt-out service. This can be done online or by completing a paper form. Click this link to opt out online, or download a paper form here and return the completed form to your GP Surgery.

It's important to note that opting out of the use of your confidential patient information for research and planning purposes does not affect your individual care. Your healthcare professionals will still be able to access and use your patient information for your individual care needs.

At our GP surgery, we are committed to respecting your privacy and ensuring that your confidential patient information is handled in a secure and confidential manner. If you have any questions or concerns about the national data opt out service or how your confidential patient information is used, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help and support you in making informed decisions about your healthcare.
